Captain Walt Reppenhagen held a 100-ton Master's license and conducted cruises in the Savannah area for 10 years. His experience includes eco tours, dinner and overnight cruises, vessel deliveries spanning the Great Lakes and the East Coast, and towing services. He was a certified instructor with the Coast Guard Auxiliary and taught boating classes at Armstrong Atlantic State University - Department of Continuing Education. He has since retired, moved to North West Georgia, and returned to life as a landlubber.
Since retiring, Capt. Walt has had time to explore new adventures, of timeless themes. He has taken on a new monicer these days - The Captain of Deep Springs. It is the pinname he uses for several books he has written - not yet published. He has also become a student of scripture and has decided to share some of his studies on this website. His first excursion will be a fascinating tour into Biblical Prophecy. He guarantees you will encounter brand new discoveries on this tour, or your money will be gladly refunded. His second tour, follows the excursion of the Apostle Paul on his mission trips through Asia and into Europe. Paul's trips, as told through Luke in the Book of Acts, are foundational to the initial explosion of Christianity in the middle of the first century. Those first few years changed the course of human history. Let's follow that early journey to see how it all got started.
A few years ago, the captain discovered a suggestion that has been transformative in his life. The idea was simple. Just meditate on the chapter in the book of Proverbs that lines up with the day of the month. Simple enough... but the results were amazing. You will want to try this yourself. Recently, Captain Walt began to explore the fundamentals of the faith, outlined in the Book of Romans. This document contains the equivalent of "U.S. Chart # 1" for coastal navigators. (Chart 1, if you are not familiar, contains the legend for all the symbols used on coastal navigation charts. It is a must-read/must-know for any serious boat captain.) Romans, similarly, contains the ABC's of the faith for any serious Christian. Understanding the basic tenants of justification will hold steady the course of any Christian in the most violent of storms and alluring of shoals.
